For some, Wisconsin’s gubernatorial recall election hits home — starting with the front yard Hopped on a red-eye flight from Seattle to Chicago last night to kick-off a week-long trip with the UW Election Eye team covering Wisconsin’s recall election. My group of four had an ambitious schedule: hit the ground running at 6 a.m. for a road trip up to Madison, filled with story-hunting and interview-gathering.  We stumbled upon my story when we were driving along a main drag in Elkhorn, Wis., talking about campaign signs. That’s when we spotted the sign (above). And so of course, we had to pull over and speak to the home owner, who turned out to be union organizer Mary Burpee.  And she had a lot to say.
